Account and data deletion

You can request deletion of your Lamics account and associated data, including your Lamics Scribe account used on the web portal, Chrome extension, and iOS or Android app. You do not need to log in to use this page or send a request.

How to request deletion

  1. Email support@lamicsai.com from the email address associated with your Lamics account.
  2. Use the subject "Account deletion request" and ask us to delete your account and associated data.
  3. Include your practice or organization name, if applicable. Do not include patient information in the email.

The link opens your email app with the address and subject filled in. You can also send the email manually using the details above. Lamics verifies your identity and, for practice data, your authority to request deletion before taking action.

What gets deleted

Subject to the retention exceptions below, we delete your account and its associated data, including:

  • Account and profile information, including your name, email, and account settings.
  • Visit audio recordings, transcripts, and generated clinical notes.
  • Templates and custom vocabulary.
  • App diagnostics and telemetry associated with your account.

The Scribe mobile apps delete local audio once upload is confirmed. Uploaded recordings and other stored account data are covered by the deletion request.

What may be retained and why

  • Practice or organization data, including PHI, may need to be retained under the practice's instructions, customer agreement, Business Associate Agreement (BAA), or legal retention obligations. Deleting an individual account does not authorize deletion of the practice's records.
  • Account records, including subscription and billing information, and audit logs may be retained where required for legal or contractual obligations. Our standard retention schedule is the service relationship plus 7 years for account information, subject to verified deletion requests, and at least 7 years for audit logs.
  • Deleted audio passes through a short storage soft-delete period. Backup copies expire on their scheduled retention cycle rather than being removed immediately.

Transcripts and notes follow the customer agreement and the practice's retention policy. Customer offboarding includes verified export before destruction. Patients seeking deletion of their health information should contact their healthcare provider, who can instruct Lamics under the BAA.

Deletion timeline

We complete account and associated data deletion within thirty (30) days of verifying your identity and authority, except for data we must retain by law or under the customer's agreement or BAA. Backup copies expire on their scheduled retention cycle. We send written confirmation when deletion is complete.
